Shabaan and Laylathul Bara'ah

Sha'baan is the truly a blessed month and we can come across various which report that our Prophet (SAW) increased his Ibadaah especially in this month. From various ahadeeth it is very clear that

  • Shabaan is an important month and our shari'ah encourges to carry out possible Ibadaah in this month.
  • Our Prophet Rasulullah(SAW) had the habit of fasting in this month.
  • People's deeds are delivered and presented to Allah in this month.
  • Our Prophet (SAW) did not like people neglecting the importnace of shabaan
  • Allah prescribesthe list of people die this year. And the list is handed over to the angels.
The Night Called Laylathul Bara'ah which means "The Night of Freedom from Fire" which falls on 14th and 15th day of Shabaan. (Today). On this day Allah forgives people who seek His forgiveness.

Things that should be done during this Night:
  • Salaah: Perform salaam atleast 8 Rakath. The rukoo and Sujudh should be longer than the normal Salaah.
  • Tilawa: Reciting Holy Qur'an as much as one can after finishing the Salaah or anytime during this day.
  • Dhikr: Keep your tongue busy in Dhikr and Durood Sharif.
  • Dua: Ask Dua to Allah and repent for the sins. All prayers and dua's will be accepted by Allah.
